From the President ==================================================

Fellow Shipmates

We on the CVA’s Board of Directors hope 2016 is turning out to be a good your for all of our fellow shipmates. We on the Board are working on all of the fine details of Reunion 2016. This is the CVA’s 10th reunion and we are looking forward to seeing you in Buffalo this fall.
Registration is now open at: www.ussamerica.org

We will be staying at the Millennium Hotel Buffalo which is located in the town of Cheektowaga, NY. near the Buffalo Airport and right next to the Walden Galleria Mall. The Mall has plenty on restaurants and shopping. There are also more places to eat across the street from the hotel, as well as a fine restaurant in the hotel. The hotel runs free shuttle service to the airport and the mall.

Tuesday we will hold registration in the morning followed by our Welcome to Buffalo Buffet in the indoor courtyard in the evening.

Wednesday we will board the buses and go into Buffalo. We will head to the Erie County Naval and Military Park where we will hold our memorial service and have lunch onboard the USS Little Rock. There will be time to tour the Little Rock and the USS Sullivan's before we head to the Grand Lady Motor Yacht for a narrated cruise along the Niagara River. Afterwards if time allows, we will have a driving tour through Buffalo on our way back to the hotel.

On Thursday we get on the buses again and head to Niagara Falls, the AMERICAN SIDE. Your ticket price will include a Niagara Parks Discovery Pass. This pass will get you on the trolley all day and on or into the following. The Maid of the Mist, the Cave of the Winds and the Legends of Niagara Movie in the Niagara Adventure Theatre. Lunch will be on your own.
If you plan on traveling across to the Canadian side, be sure to bring your passport and be prepared to wait in long lines. Crossing is a day trip you would have to do on your own. As a group, we just do not have the time to cross.

Friday morning is our general meeting with the election of officers, after which you are free for the day. The Banquet dinner will be held in the evening. While this is not a formal affair, in the past some individuals have come dressed more for a BBQ than a banquet. The CVA does request proper attire be worn: No shorts, tee shirts, etc...

Saturday the buses will first take us to the Pierce Arrow Museum, which displays antique Cars, bikes and motorcycles for insight into the transportation history of Western NY. Afterwards we will stop at Buffalo’s Flying Bison Brewery to sample up to (4) four of their signature brews. We will then head over to the Anchor Bar, home of the original HOT Wings. Since we are still thirsty, our last stop will be the Resurgence Brewery for more samples before heading back to the hotel.
We would like to take the time to point out that all of the prices for meals and tours/buses include all taxes and gratuities.

We all on the Board of Directors want to wish you a very safe and healthy year and we look forward to seeing many of you in
September.
